The Practice

The practice was established in 1876 by William Johnson and has been resident in Melbourne Street since 1878. Initially it was associated with the Midland Railway Sick Club and other Friendly Societies, later with the Leicester PMS service based in Bond Street, and more recently as a National Health Service practice from 1947. There have been 12 partners from inception to the present day. We hope to continue to provide personal care for our patients registered within our practice area, at our two surgery premises. Our aim is to provide an appointment with the doctor of your choice. If your problem is urgent you can see one of the doctors at the nearest available surgery. We work closely with our own employed receptionists and nurse. There are also Health Authority employees who work with us - district nurses, midwife and health visitors - and we have access to help from others.

We aim to give our patients the best service possible, and that means always trying to do better. You can help us by telling us when we please you and when we don't. If we can change things for the better then we will.

Complaints And Suggestions

The practice manager is Mr Cliff Davey. If you have any complaints or suggestions regarding the practice, please ask the reception staff for a complaint/suggestion form. Mr Davey will ensure that the matter is dealt with promptly and will advise you on the ways open to you to ensure that your complaint or suggestion is acted upon. He will normally reply to you within two working days of receiving your complaint/suggestion.
